FAQ

Common Questions

Don't see yours? Apply above — we'll send a full Q&A with the rulebook on June 1.

What does it cost to enter?
$150 — the Founding Competitor Rate. That covers entry across all six events, your event t-shirt, the competitor packet, and access to the awards ceremony. Locked in for the inaugural class only.
How many spots are there?
Entries are capped at 150 competitors. The founding-competitor early-access list registers first when the gate opens June 1, before public sign-ups.
How are events scored?
Every event is judged on four criteria — speed, precision, cleanliness, and execution — with a published rubric per category. The First Lawn Care Olympics Champion is the operator with the best combined score across all six events.
Do I need insurance?
Yes — competitors must show proof of general liability insurance at check-in. Specific coverage minimums and accepted carriers will be published in the June 1 rulebook.
Can I compete solo, or do I need a crew?
Solo operators and full crews are both welcome. Most events run solo or in pairs; the Full Yard Blitz can run as a team. Specific team-size limits per event are confirmed in the rulebook.
What equipment do I bring?
Bring your own — that is part of the test. Equipment classes (deck size, blade restrictions, machine category) are defined per event in the rulebook so the field stays fair.
I'm coming in from out of town. Where should we stay?
Fayetteville has plenty of options. Registered competitors will receive a recommended hotel partner list and a venue map closer to event week.

150 spots. One champion. June 1 will go fast.
